HELLO!!
In computer networking, a gateway is a node (a router) on a TCP/IP network that serves as an access point to another network. A default gateway is the node on the computer network that the network software uses when an IP address does not match any other routes in the routing table. - wiki
That was the definition.
How to check your default gateway :
In a web browser's address bar, type 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2 depending on your location (just try both, go with which ever one works). Then enter your username as "admin" and enter your password also as "admin" .
That will take you to a web page called "data one". There click on Device info located on the left side of the page.
Then click on summary, which will display two tables. Look for Default Gateway in the second one. There, the number adjacent to it is your default gate way.
How to reset the default gateway :
In the same window click on "Advanced Setup" located on the left, and choose "WAN". And click on "save/reboot" located just below the table that is displayed. Close the browser and wait for it to reboot. After it has rebooted, the default gateway would have been reset.
You can reset your default gateway if your internet is not working. Doing so might get it to start working.
Thank you.
Hope that helps.
